THE DIFFICULTY IN DEALING WITH EVIL, AND HOW GOD EQUIPPED US TO DISCERN IT AND STAND UP TO IT.
One of the greatest uses a Christian can do is expose and stand up to evil in the world. This takes strength and composure and it is done from a desire to be right with God and for God’s will to prevail in the world and the hearts of the people. Evil flourishes when good men do nothing
Jesus spoke to His disciples (and all believers who desire good to prevail) about how to learn to deal with evil tactics, yet remain fair and strong in conviction for moral standards.
Jesus: “These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be made to stumble. They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me. But these things I have told you, that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you of them”.
It is a precarious balance to deal with the machinations of evil, often because Christians are uncertain about expressing anger. It is natural to feel anger when something is unjust. As Christian we need to focus our motivation on being right with God and fighting for His principles in life, not harm or vengeance to others. Our solid ground is this: Care and love for others, our country, and for God elevates our perception. If we are centered in these loves first, we can discern things better, and not react as much from old patterns of rage and from unjust treatment in the past.
As the parable of the unjust steward shows, those who are in good do not have the same kind of zeal for power and control as those in evil because those in good have a conscience and temper their actions, while those in evil do not think of others, but are aggressive to control, to manipulate, even with cruelty, while trying to look good.
Good from God is love and innocence bonded in our soul. Everyone has within them what the Bible calls ‘remains’. Remains refers to the innocence inside us from childhood. They are from times we loved parents and playmates purely, without any other motive than to engage and be present with love and enthusiasm (enthusiasm means God within); and from these times as little children love and innocence were bonded in our soul. These are times when we loved parents, animals, nature and playmates. As we grow up God uses remains to regenerate us from evil. We cannot receive God without humility; and innocence is the heart of humility. Innocence incorporated with intelligence becomes wisdom. The beauty is that innocence is the source of real strength and peace. It gives the Strength and clarity to stand up to evil and expose it without us being consumed in hate which is evils intent.
I give this definition of ‘Good’ because the evil always seeks to destroy our bond with God. One of the ways they do that is with ideology, by relativizing good and evil, thus to water down truth, and make the Word of no meaning. They will say ‘who are you to say what good is’. The more we understand the principles of the Word and have a passion for what the Lord did to redeem us the stronger will be in fighting evil. We get angry because we want God to win; we see the deception of evil, and we are able to stand up to it.
